Building a (GIANT!) balloon replica of Van Gogh’s Starry Night has been the most amazing thing in my balloon twisting career so far-and it’s inspired me to do even bigger and better things! I was so honored to be able to work with Jeremy (www.balloonguyentertainment.com).
Here’s just a little bit about the build.
It took over 5000 balloons!
The entire first day was spent JUST blowing up and measuring hundreds upon hundreds of balloons.
The second day, we finally got to start putting them together! It took about 2 hours to build each of the panels (about 7 feet by 4.5 feet). That day, I worked about 9 hours. We also had a reporter come and interview us.
The third day was my moving day, so unfortunately, I wasn’t able to help much. But I was able to go and get some pictures with the (not quite finished) result of my labors. Jeremy finished it on his own, getting it all put together after 3 days of work.
This is the finished product-a beautiful exhibit to welcome in the summer reading program for the Orem public library.
In the next few weeks, Jeremy will be finishing up a time lapse video of our work. The link will come as soon as possible!
